Freshinfo reports that a latest X-Ray inspection system by Ishida uses GAs for image processing:
The IX-GA uses self-learning Genetic Algorithm (GA) technology to offer maximum detection and reliability, according to Ishida product engineer Jim Bedford
According to Ishida’s website:
A work “Image Processing Optimization Method and Application to the X-lay Inspection System by Genetic Algorithm” by our chief software engineers, Mr. Osamu Hirose, received the 8th Packaging Machine Technology Grand Prize ,”Software award”, from Japan Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Association.
