The John Templeton foundation and the MIT computer science and artificial intelligence laboratory are organizing an event Creativity: the mind, machines, and mathematics
in celebration of 70th Anniversary of Alan Turing's Seminal Paper "On
Computable Numbers". The event features a public debate between David Gelernter and Ray Kurzweil
Are we limited to building super-intelligent robotic 'zombies' or will
it be possible and desirable for us to build conscious, creative,
volitional, perhaps even 'spritual'
machines?
