DSMGA patent issues
A US patent has been granted for the invention Methods and Program Products for Optimizing Problem Clustering. The inventors, Tian-Li Yu, David E. Goldberg, and Ali Yassine worked together in the Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign at the time the patent was filed. Dr. Yu is now an assistant professor at National Taiwan University in Electrical Engineering. The patent (no. 7,280,986) can be read on the the USPTO web site here.
