ETSI announces ETC/LOT series for Fall 07
Engineering and Technology Studies at Illinois is proud to announce its Fall 2007 lineup of speakers in the Engineering, Technology, and Culture (ETC) lecture series on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
The semester starts with a special event, a Workshop on the Engineer of the Future. Immediate past president of the National Academy of Engineering, Bill Wulf, and Vice President for Innovation and Research at Olin College, Sherra Kerns will headline the event, and they will be joined by a panel of UIUC faculty and industrial friends to discuss the future engineer.
This kickoff is followed by a series of special lectures on the Limits and Opportunities of Technology (LOT), c0-sponsored by UIUC’s Center for Global Studies and ETSI. The fall theme for the LOT series is energy, and two UIUC experts are joined by one from Georgia Tech for what promises to be a provocative series of lectures.
UIUC faculty members Kevin Hamilton (Art & Design) and Christian Sandvig (Speech Communication) explore important facets of technology in their respective fields to cap off the fall program.
The fall ETC/LOT lineup is available here. Mark your calendar and plan to attend these important lectures today.
