Workshop on Philosophy & Engineering issues CFP

The 2007 Workshop on Philosophy & Engineering has issued its call for papers here. The workshop will be held at TUDelft, October 29-31, 2007 (Monday-Wednesday). Extended abstracts (1-2 pages) are due 17 August 2007.

Philosophy of technology reading seminar at UIUC Fall 2007

Cliff Christians is offering his Philosophy of Technology seminar, Comm 577, in Fall 2007 at the UIUC on Tuesdays from 3-5 pm. The course syllabus may be downloaded here, and those interested in further information should contact the instructor here.

Canceled Event: Downey video lecture & teleconference canceled, May 2, 2007

The ETC series was scheduled to show Gary Downey’s video lecture and follow it with a video conference with Gary in the NCSA Auditorium at 12 noon on May 2, 2007. Because of the recent events at Virginia Tech, that activity is canceled and those interested are encourage to watch the lecture online (here).

NASA chief ratifies ETC/ETSI ideas in Two Cultures speech
