My first paper

February 17th, 2009

I recently finished my first paper, which was done with Drs. Xavier Llora and David Goldberg’s supervision (hard to find better people to work with) and submitted it to GECCO, to the Genetics-Based Machine Learning track. What we tackle in the paper is the difficulty of using GEP or GP conditions in Learning Classifier Systems due to the explosion in population size needed as the problem grows. I became interested in the problem following Stewart Wilson’s work, and I think we found an interesting result that might be useful going forward. You can find the full article here.

Hello World

February 16th, 2009

I will start by presenting the blog. My idea with this weblog is to use it as a place to put some random thoughts together, talking about whatever I feel like it’s interesting at the time. This will mainly be a professional blog, but some personal hindsight will probably pop up every once in a while. I will be blogging about Artificial Intelligence, Genetic Algorithms, Machine Learning; and whatever else is relevant to the work I am doing at each time, so this will probably become pretty eclectic.
