About-WPE-2007
Dates & Location: The 2007 Workshop on Philosophy and Engineering (WPE-2007) will be held 29-31 October 2007 (Monday-Wednesday) at the Delft University of Technology (TUDelft) in the Department of Philosophy.
History: A meeting was held at the Engineering Systems Division of MIT on 19-20 October 2006 by the Philosophy and Engineering Planning group headed by Taft Broome, Howard University. At that meeting, a decision was reached to hold a Workshop on Philosophy and Engineering in 2007.
Mission: The workshop’s mission is to encourage reflection on engineering, engineers, and technology by philsophers and engineers alike.
Affiliation & Cooperation: WPE-2007 is run in cooperation and affiliation with the Society for Philosophy and Technology (www.spt.org) and the ASEE Ethics Division (www.asee.org).
Sponsors: WPE-2007 has received financial support from the Sloan Foundation, Deere & Company, MIT, TUDelft, and The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
